Two suspects arrested after learner stabbed to death

Two young men have been arrested after a learner was fatally stabbed while walking home from a Madadeni school.

Two young men have been arrested after a learner was stabbed and killed while walking home from a Madadeni school on August 19.

Lizzy Arumugam, Newcastle SAPS Corporate Communications Office, confirmed that the learner was walking with friends when a learner from another high school approached the boy and, without warning, stabbed him in the chest.

He was immediately taken to the Section One Clinic, where he was pronounced dead.

“Two suspects have since been arrested, with one being surrendered by his own parents,” said Arumugam.

Police investigations are ongoing.
