Woman arrested for husband’s murder in Dannhauser

A 37-year-old woman was arrested and charged with the murder of her husband on Thursday, 28 August, following an intelligence-led operation by the Amajuba District Task Team, Amajuba District Crime Intelligence, and Dannhauser SAPS Tracing Team.
The operation focused on the Kliprose and Vietdriet areas within the Dannhauser policing precinct.
Constable Nonjabulo Langa, Amajuba District SAPS Corporate Communications Officer, confirmed that the woman had confessed to killing her husband earlier this month.
“A friend of the suspect was also arrested after being linked to the case through a bank transaction, allegedly used to pay a hitman to carry out the murder,” said Langa.
Authorities traced and located the hitman in Ezakheni, Ladysmith. The vehicle used in the crime was recovered at kwaNkosi Stand, Blaaubosch, within the Madadeni policing precinct.
Exhibits recovered from the hitman included, one black Star 9mm pistol with eight live rounds of ammunition, with the serial number filed off.
The suspects made their first court appearances on Friday.
