Police bust suspected drug dealer in Steadville

The officers arrested a 20-year-old with cocaine and cash believed to be the proceeds of crime.

Police carried out a crime crackdown in Steadville recently.

During the operation, they arrested a 20-year-old man with 45 pieces of rock cocaine in his possession, as well as cash believed to be from drug sales.

He has appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court on a charge of drug dealing.

Several other people were also arrested for different offences, including selling liquor without a licence and being in the country without proper documents.

A large amount of liquor was confiscated.

Police say that operations of this nature will continue in the future.
