Prepare for widespread water interruptions
Water treatment plants will be affected during the electricity outage
Due to the electricity outage planned for tomorrow (September 25), water supply will be affected.
The local municipality will be performing essential work, which includes the installation of new transformers at substation 57, as well as remove trees from main lines.

This will result in an electricity outage between 10:00 and 16:00.
The outage will mean that water treatment plants will be affected.
uThukela District Municipality says that the following areas will experience water shortages – Mimosadale and Kwezi, Estcourt CBD area, industrial area, Colita, Papkuilsfontein, Osizweni, Forderville, Brewitt Park, Gellington, Komdag, Mkamba Park, Caravan Park and surrounding areas, Wembezi and Ntabamhlophe.
“People are therefore advised to store enough water to overcome the situation,” said communication manager Jabulani Mkhonza.
