Major pipe bursts affect water supply
The district municipality team is busy with repairs

Residents in Wembezi and Ntabamhlophe will be experiencing water interruptions after two major pipe bursts.
According to uThukela District Municipality, the burst pipes were located in Gilby and Bank roads.
“The burst pipes have, in the process, drained the storage reservoirs in George Cross Water Treatment Works since yesterday (January 6),” said district municipality spokesperson Jabulani Mkhonza.
Water supply in Wembezi’s wards 8, 9 and 17 and in Ntabamhlophe wards 13, 14, 15 and 16 has been affected.
“The reticulation teams are on the ground working on restoring water supply to the affected communities. We apologise for inconvenience this may have caused,” added Mkhonza.
