The farmers have identified some places with springs that would be better served with the installation of boreholes
The farmers of Weenen met with the leadership of uThukela District Municipality with the aim of helping the municipality to ensure that water reaches the community.
These farmers have identified some places with springs that would be better served with the installation of boreholes.
Recently, District Mayor Inkosi Ntandoyenkosi Shabalala and Speaker TY Nqubuka had a second meeting with the farmers to listen to their complaints about water issues and how the grievances can be remedied.
What stands out is the existing non-operational water pump in Weenen, which seems to have a problem with water not reaching the community and the farmers.
A visit to the water plant in Weenen followed. This plant is in the process of being developed.
