Tourism information day held in Newcastle

Present at the event were development finance and tourism grading institutions, plus government officials.

The Amajuba District Municipality, in partnership with the national Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs hosted a tourism information session at the Newcastle Inn on September 7.

Present at the session were development finance institutions and tourism grading institutions, who came together with representatives of local, provincial and national government to engage, interact and discuss the issues and challenges facing the tourism industry.

During his opening speech, the District Portfolio Chairperson for Local Economic Development, L Mthembu acknowledged the invaluable contribution tourism has had towards the advancement of the Amajuba District. He deemed tourism ‘an economic tool for growth’.
