No water in some areas

uThukela promised that water would be back on Saturday

Water shortages continue to haunt the residents of Aloe Park, Hillside, Rose Park, Ezakheni, Steadville and Acaciavale.

From Friday (February 24), private tankers have been seen distributing water in the affected areas.

According to the last communication that uThukela issued (on Friday), water was supposed to be back on Saturday.

This came after a visit to the Ezakheni Water Treatment Works by uThukela Mayor NB Shabalala on Friday.

The aim of the visit was to check on the progress in removing silt from the pumps. The delegation discovered that the service provider needed more time, and they subsequently promised that water supply would be back on Saturday.

However, this never happened and many areas are still sitting with ‘dry taps’.
