Newcastle’s green-fingered resident receives coveted Afgri award
The Newcastle agricultural community flocked to the Huttenpark Primary School hall on Saturday, February 10, to mingle and display their gardening prowess in a fierce competition to determine whose garden is the finest in Newcastle.
The AFGRI Garden of the Year celebration this year celebrated those with green thumbs, with one resident taking home two titles, including the prized Garden of the Year award.
After presentations from various companies, Susan Basson was announced as the one with the ‘green touch’ when it comes to all ‘things’ gardening.
Her pristine, idyllic garden clinched the top spot, leading to her receiving the much-coveted spade trophy, much to the delight of her friends and family.
