Nearby community members didn't waste any time picking up the carcasses

About 10 goats died after a truck and a bakkie collided on the N3 southbound this morning (April 10). The collision took place just after Midway Estcourt.

The truck was transporting goats and the bakkie was pulling a trailer that was loaded with timber.

According to an N3 Toll Concession (N3TC) official who was on scene, “While travelling towards Durban, a truck struck a bakkie with a trailer, loaded with timber. The truck swerved, then went off the road and up an embankment. The truck was carrying livestock. As a result, plus-minus 10 goats died at the scene and others sustained minor injuries. The ones that were not injured were taken to their original destination.”
