Mourners gather at private hospital to remember Dr Ndlovu

Partner and friend Dr Mzinyane said he would like the new private hospital to be named after Dr Ndlovu

There is a lot of sorrow and mourning in the community after the passing of prominent doctor, Dr Ndlovu. Dr Ndlovu passed away on Monday (August 5) and the news of his death shocked many people. Dr Ndlovu is praised for starting a surgery in Wembezi Township to bring healthcare closer to the community.

At the memorial service held yesterday (August 8) at Mtshezi Private Hospital, Dr Ndlovu was praised for his unique healing talent and saving many people’s lives. He was praised for having the idea to start the first-ever private hospital in Estcourt, and for his selflessness and good heart. It was said that Dr Ndlovu touched many lives in Estcourt in different ways.

The memorial service was attended by KZN Department of Health HOD Dr Sandile Shabalala, former KZN Education MEC Mbali Frazer, Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality Mayor Mduduzi Myeza, doctors, the Ndlovu family, the Buthelezi family, and community members from inside and outside Estcourt.

His friends (and partners), Dr Ntuli and Dr Mzinyane, expressed how painful it was to see their colleague pass away. Dr Ntuli said that Dr Ndlovu played a big role in his life. He praised him for having a gentle and loving heart, describing him as his role model. Dr Mzinyane confirmed that it was indeed Dr Ndlovu who came up with the idea of ​​a private hospital, saying that he would like the hospital or a ward to be named after him. 

Addressing the fully-packed marquee, Mayor Myeza said they were blessed that Dr Ndlovu chose Estcourt to set up his practice.

KZN HOD for Health Dr Shabalala also conveyed his condolences to the family.
