Hospice raises funds with burger stand

Initiatives like this help to ensure continued palliative care for those with life-threatening illnesses

Members of Ladysmith Hospice, along with volunteers, recently set up a hamburger stand at De Francas SPAR in Francis Road to raise funds.

As is always the case when they do this, the alluring aroma of sizzling onions and hamburger patties filled the air, tempting early-morning shoppers to part with some cash in order to satisfy their hunger pangs.

The community generously supported the good cause and had a tasty bite to eat in the process. Much-needed funds were raised to continue rendering palliative care to Hospice’s patients and their families.

“The support is appreciated beyond measure. The help we had from willing and enthusiastic volunteers is fondly appreciated too,” echoed Hospice chairperson Desre Heunis and manager Jennifer Rehman.
