Great family spirit on and off the greens at Round Table bowls day

Round Table Ncandu 86 member, Bryan Boardman, described the Bowls Day the organisation hosted on November 16, as a 'tremendous success'.

“We couldn’t be happier with the turnout and the community’s support,” Boardman said.

He added that the highlight of the event was ‘the spirit of the players, family and friends’ both on and off the bowling greens.

Sixty-four participants supported the bowls day, making up 16 teams.

At the end of the day, it was the team from Blackrock Casino that proved its prowess on the greens scooping first place in the competition, with the team entered by Future Coal Plant second and the Lions Club third.

Boardman extended the Round Table’s gratitude to the various local companies that sponsored the event.

“Your continued help and generosity means the world to us. We truly appreciate the way you consistently support us whenever we need it. A big thank you also goes out to the community for participating in the fundraiser. Every single contribution made a difference. Lastly, we’d like to express our sincere appreciation to the Newcastle Bowling Club for their invaluable assistance and for allowing us to host our event at their venue,” concluded Boardman.
