Girl Guides South Africa takes a stand against GBV
Girl Guides South Africa has partnered with the Newcastle SAPS to take a proactive stand against gender-based violence.
Approximately 100 Girl Guides participated in the event, which was also attended by District Commissioner FB Alexander.
Their united front saw Guides marching from the Albert Wessels Drive and Allen Street intersection to the Newcastle Police Station on Thursday, November 28, brandishing various banners and posters with a clear message to those inflicting pain and harm on women and children.
The march concluded at the police station, where the Guides were met by Amajuba Cluster Commander, Major-General Frederick Alexander.
Major General FB Alexander addressed the Guides, emphasising the importance of the campaign.
The event was deemed a success, marking a significant step towards raising awareness about GBV in the Amajuba District.
