Police act swiftly to track down suspect
A task team (Operation Vala Umgodi) was deployed and a man was arrested

Police acted swiftly to arrest a man following the shooting of two tavern patrons in a local tavern on Sunday morning.
Initial reports suggested that the victims had been stabbed in the area known as Ghetto but when the police were called to Vryheid Hospital they found that two men were being treated for gunshot wounds.
The owner of the tavern had brought the men to the hospital.
It was alleged that one of the victims argued with a man who produced a gun and shot him in the chest and elbow. The gunman then turned the firearm on the victim’s friend and shot him in the leg.
Cartridges and bloodstains were found on the floor of the tavern.
A task team (Operation Vala Umgodi) was deployed and a man was arrested in Hlobane. He was also found in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
