SPCA alerts residents after wild lion spotted near Ingogo

Newcastle SPCA urges caution after a wild lion was spotted near Ingogo. Report sightings immediately to help ensure public safety.

The Newcastle SPCA has issued an urgent warning following reports of an adult male lion roaming in the Ingogo area this morning.

Residents are urged not to approach, trap, chase, or harm the animal. Instead, they should immediately report its location by sending a WhatsApp location pin to the SPCA’s emergency number: 072 337 0347.

KZN Wildlife has been informed and is now following up on tracing the big cat.

If you see anyone attempting to harm the lion, report the incident immediately to the SPCA and provide the location.
