Hlobane community shaken after gruesome forest murder

Police investigate after a man is found stabbed and burnt in KwaSamyela forest, Hlobane.

A man’s body was found in a forested area at KwaSamyela, Hlobane, on Saturday.

A passer-by discovered the body and alerted police. Upon arrival at the scene, police established that the deceased had sustained several stab wounds. The victim was allegedly attacked with a sharp object before being partially burnt.

The deceased was later identified as Thokozani Sibisi, by his brother.

Police have opened a murder case and investigations are continuing.

Police say, “We don’t know the motive behind the attack as yet.”

They urge anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to come forward.
