Dozens of aspiring beauty queens gathered at Blackrock Casino on Saturday, November 22, for the fifth annual Miss Wonder Woman pageant; an evening marked by glamour, courage and heartfelt emotion.
Pageant host, Sharné Dheochand, opened the event by sharing her family’s deeply personal battle with cancer.
Dheochand lost her brother, Justin, to leukaemia in 2007, and in 2021 her mother, Belinda Ellor, was diagnosed with breast cancer.
She said she was grateful to report that her mother had won her fight and remained steadfastly by her side.
Dheochand explained that her mission within the pageantry industry is primarily to teach young girls to place humanity and community at the forefront of everything they do.
Guests were not only treated to a dazzling runway showcase but also to live entertainment by Billy Bagpipes and lively, toe-tapping tunes performed by Belinda Ellor.
The evening drew to a close with the much-anticipated crowning ceremony, ensuring guests left in high spirits.
Congratulations to all the winners in their respective categories.
Special congratulations to the overall winner, Rochè Agenbag, who earned herself a guaranteed spot in the Miss Grand South Africa 2026 pageant.
Dheochand expressed her heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the event, including participants, parents, friends, family and each sponsor who supported the evening.
