Scheduled maintenance to leave Coronation without power
Coronation residents are urged to prepare for a planned electricity interruption on June 9.
Residents in the Coronation area are being advised to prepare for a scheduled electricity interruption next week as Eskom carries out planned maintenance work at the Coronation Substation.
Outage scheduled for June 9
According to a public notice issued by the municipality, electricity supply to consumers served by the substation will be disconnected on June 9 from 06:00 until 18:00. An alternative date of June 11 has been set should the maintenance not proceed as planned on the original date.
Work aimed at improving network reliability
The planned outage forms part of Eskom’s maintenance programme aimed at ensuring the reliability and stability of the electricity network.
Residents urged to exercise caution
Municipal officials have cautioned residents that electrical installations should be treated as live throughout the outage period, as power may be restored or interrupted without warning during the maintenance work.
Arrangements encouraged for essential services
The municipality has also assured residents that every effort will be made to restore electricity supply as quickly as possible once the work has been completed.
Consumers are encouraged to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the interruption, particularly those who rely on electricity for business operations, medical equipment, security systems, or other essential services.
Notice issued by municipality
The notice was issued by Municipal Manager SP Dlamini on May 25.
