A horrific multi-vehicle crash on the N3 Johannesburg-bound near Van Reenen has reportedly claimed six lives and left others injured.
The collision involved two trucks and one light motor vehicle, resulting in a pile-up that caused major traffic delays.
Fatalities and injuries
Six fatalities have been recorded following the crash. Injuries have also been reported, although further details about the victims have not yet been confirmed.
Jo’burg-bound carriageway obstructed
The crash blocked the entire Johannesburg-bound carriageway, causing significant traffic congestion in the area. Motorists are urged to approach the scene with caution and be patient.
Obey the rules of the road, says N3TC
N3TC Chief Operating Officer Ms Dhoogra has pleaded with drivers to follow all law enforcement instructions. “Please pay attention to and obey the instructions of law enforcement officers, and approach the area with caution. If possible, road users are advised to delay travel to Van Reenen’s Pass until further notice,” she said.
The exact cause of the accident is still unknown.
