Athletes compete in provincial athletic championships

The learners did their school proud at the KZN Christian School’s Provincial Athletics

Over the weekend of September 2 and 3, 16 athletes from Elevate Christian Academy (ECA) embarked on a journey to Msunduzi Stadium in Pietermaritzburg to compete in the KZN Christian School’s Provincial Athletics meeting.

There were 560 athletes from all over KZN and the atmosphere in the stadium was electric.

ECA’s athletes gave of their best as they competed in numerous track events, long jump, javelin, discus, shot-put and turbo-javelin.

Elevate Christian Academy learners who participated in the KZN Christian School’s Provincial Athletics.

The athletes who qualified in Pietermaritzburg will be representing KZN in the national event at DP de Villiers Stadium in Sasolburg, where they are expecting hundreds of athletes from all over South Africa.

ECA’s qualifying athletes include Theo Eden, Sduduzo Mthembu, Abigail Rivalland and Noluthando Khumalo.

The school is extremely proud of all their athletes and looks forward to seeing many more exciting achievements in the future.

Results from the KZNCSSA provincials:

Simam’kele Mazibuko achieved a second placing, receiving a silver medal for turbo-javelin.

Theo Eden achieved a first placing, receiving a gold medal for javelin and a second placing (silver medal) for shot-put

Noluthando Khumalo achieved a second place to win a silver medal for long jump.
