Volksrust High School recently hosted a memorable and meaningful ceremony to officially inaugurate the 2026 student council, as well as the hostel leaders of Horison Boys’ Hostel and Tienerhof Girls’ Hostel.

The event celebrated leadership, responsibility, and the promise of a bright future.

Learners, educators, and parents gathered in a beautifully decorated hall to witness the appointment of the new executive committee and hostel leaders.

A highlight of the evening was the motivational address by Mdumseni Ngwenya, the head boy of Volksrust High and Horison Boys’ Hostel in 2019.

He spoke with conviction and wisdom about the core values of effective leadership – service, integrity, and the ability to inspire others.

His message resonated deeply with the newly appointed leaders, encouraging them to lead with purpose and humility.

The school extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this grand occasion.

Special appreciation went to Ms Nicole Magudulela, who ensured the hall was stylishly and elegantly decorated, creating an atmosphere of grace.
