Volksrust High School closed its Culture Week with a Traditional Attire Day, giving learners and teachers an opportunity to celebrate their diverse heritage.

Marietjie Steyn of Volksrust High School said learners and teachers arrived at school dressed in outfits representing different cultures from South Africa and around the world.

Learners showcase cultural heritage

“The school was full of colour, with shweshwe, beaded attire and traditional clothes from Zulu, Xhosa, Sotho, Afrikaans, Indian and other cultures,” said Steyn.

The day ended with everyone celebrating and appreciating the diversity and heritage that make their school and country unique.
