Hospitals, the municipality and rising prices

Editor – Thank you for allowing me space in your lovely paper. Firstly, I refer to the lady who was attacked by her neighbour’s dog. It is very sad to see this happening in hospitals, as she was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment and had to wait a considerable length of time. I say this because nurses and doctors are getting paid by the government and then have a nasty attitude towards their patients. If they had no patients, they would have no jobs.

Some of the nurses seem to become the doctors and even tell them what to do! Doctors, on the other hand, ask you where it hurts and for how long. He doesn’t touch you or examine you; he just takes his pen, writes on his file and tells you to come back in a month’s time. If this is the case, I think we should not visit doctors, but go straight to the pharmacist. The same goes for clinics – a don’t care attitude. Is the hospital manager aware of these issues?

This also goes for the municipality. Councillors serve their five years and the municipality creates jobs for them in the clerical department. Whenever there is a press comment needed from management, they are never there to comment. (Why is the response not printed in the paper the following week?)

Looking at other things, we cannot drive anymore in the Plaza as they are occupying the roads for selling purposes. Is Public Safety aware of this? They stop vehicles in quieter places instead of doing their jobs in the worst / dangerous places in town.

Furthermore, car licences are going up and up – we pay R36 per vehicle. Where does the money go?
