Community thanks Magenta for standing with them in grief
They were professional, compassionate, sympathetic and deeply concerned.
There are moments when words simply do not feel like enough.
On Friday (September 25), during the Newcastle Citizens Community March, our community experienced the sudden and heartbreaking collapse of someone very dear to us, Aruna ‘Sunshine’ Jaggernath.
In those terrifying moments, Magenta Security and Ambulance Services responded within seconds.
They did not hesitate; they immediately rushed to Aruna and provided assistance.
But what happened afterwards is what touched us on a deeply human level.
Magenta stayed when they could have left
When Aruna was handed over to Madadeni Hospital, Magenta did not simply leave. They stayed.
They remained concerned about Aruna, so they remained with Raj, her husband, and made sure he was okay. They stayed with him through an incredibly painful and traumatic time, and we could see that this was not simply professional duty; they genuinely cared.
They shared in our sadness and, in their own way, grieved with us as we faced the devastating loss of Aruna, who sadly passed away at Madadeni Hospital.
To the entire Magenta Security and Ambulance Services team: Thank you.
Thank you for responding when every second mattered, for your professionalism, for your compassion, for staying when you could have left, for caring for Aruna and for standing beside Raj, and thank you for standing beside us.
What you gave us went beyond a service; it was humanity.
In one of the darkest moments our community has experienced, you showed us kindness, dignity and genuine care. There are simply no words big enough to express our gratitude for what you did.
