Editor – My wife was involved in a vehicle accident on Monday, March 14, on the Pieters road. She was the driver and only person who was seriously injured in the accident. I can’t go into the details of the accident because we are still waiting for Ezakheni police to come and take a statement at the hospital. Since it will be weeks before she will be mobile again, I would just like to thank the following people involved: the gentleman from IPSS who was there first and helped her (sorry, I never got your name), the people from EMRS and Sharaj Ambulance Services, and last but not least, ER24. They actually even helped her in hospital when helping hands ran out in the CT Scan department. I know they waited for their equipment, but they still went beyond the call of duty. Thank you to Miss Oosthuizen and her partner (again, sorry, you had no name tag on), and then Johan from ER24 for taking over the scene. Thank you all (even work friends at the scene).
Lastly, all the ladies in Ward 4 at the Provincial Hospital. Despite negative rumours about you, I must admit that my wife’s treatment so far is to be commended. We appreciate your efforts – thank you very much. And yes, to the people out there, sometimes it feels like ages before your love one gets treated. But stand still, look around you and notice how many other ‘loved ones’ need attention. Give these people their due, they are trying their best.
Thank you all for your support.
