Dumping site worsening daily

Madam,

Over the last number of weeks much was written about illegal dumping, especially the dumping alongside Kirkland Street.

Recently the mayor stated that illegal dumping would not be tolerated.

I find this statement very amusing because the mayor surely drives past this particular illegal dumping site daily as this is en route to his home and I ask the question,

why only when there is a public outcry about dumping in our town, is he now suddenly going to come down hard on perpetrators. He surely had seen this dumping site worsening daily and it is suspected that the municipality’s own contractors building the new office block were also guilty of dumping on this site.

It is regrettable that this was not stopped in the initial stages because now all that rubbish has to be removed at the community’s expense.
