Sir,
Capt Mbatha of Hattingspruit eventually came to see us this morning after we had been constantly calling the police station for over four days to complain about a disturbance. The calls went unanswered, and when one finally was, we were told ‘no vehicles available’.
However, we discussed all the problems, and while he was here he asked where the loud music was coming from – we could hardly hear each other talking! I got up and asked him to follow me and pointed at the source, which is about 30 metres away from our house.
He told me what the problem is with the unanswered calls – Telkom booboo – and also why there are no vehicles: Nyanyadu is the problem – Hattingspruit SAPS is the only station that assists them!
We have at least resolved our differences! He did go and stop the racket, and issued a warning to the shop-owner. Phew, I’m glad that’s done and dusted!
Now I am taking on the Dannhauser Municipality… There have been no streetlights since January 17, and the truck business that was started here means we don’t sleep at night with all the revving, hooting, loud voices and chopping noises, and we can’t open our windows as we inhale diesel fumes and dust. After many complaints to Dannhauser Municipality nothing has been done!
