Disgusted gran speaks out

Madam – Thank you Newcastle Advertiser for the interesting History of Newcastle.

I am 72 years old – lived in this town my entire life – Central Hotel was my home. I could cheerfully walk around town even in late evening to window-shop. Sunday afternoon I could take my two daughters to enjoy the swings at Paterson Street Park – now a park of shame.

Oh what happened? I am a great granny and ask, “What do you do when your eight-year-old great grandson presents you with a condom and says ‘Granny what is this? Is it a balloon? Can I play with it’?”

Where has respect gone for the old folk, let alone their offspring? I am disgusted. If there are women trying to make a sort of living they should stick to wh**ehouses and leave our public amenities free of contamination to both mind and body.
