Editor – I have politics on the mind today. Isn’t it strange that whenever that’s the case, it’s always something you want to moan about. And today is no exception. I just heard that President Jacob Zuma, in his infinite wisdom, will be getting another salary increase. Probably his ministers too.
I guess it’s not shocking, but it’s still most certainly aggravating. Here we are in a country that is wracked with poverty, with the majority of the population languishing below the breadline. Then you get politicians constantly talking about ways and strategies to counter unemployment and successfully combat poverty. Then you get the exact same spinners of lies (politicians) giving themselves hefty increases at the expense of the masses. And WE keep on voting the same chumps in!
Heaven forbid CHANGE the man in charge; anything is better than that, right? At least we have Pravin Gordhan who is desperately trying to sort out our financial woes. Hope his hands aren’t tied by bureaucracy! How’s that little tirade of mine?
But seriously, people are saying that Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton are jokes as American presidential candidates, but I’m sure either of them would be 10 times as competent as our lot at keeping the economy not just afloat, but soaring.
That’s my 10 cents worth (wonder what it’s worth?). Anyone got anything to add? Some pocket change would be helpful while Zuma fills his own coffers. Why should he care when he is becoming stinking rich!
