Four-way stop confusion

If you are one of those drivers who do not know how to use a four-way stop, it is simple: whichever vehicle stopped at the intersection first has the right of way

During the past weekend certain intersections in town were turned into four-way stops.

It became very obvious that some drivers do not know or simply don’t care about the rules of a four-way stop. In some streets, there was confusion as some drivers did not wait their turn and crossed the intersection without consideration for other motorists or pedestrians.

If you are one of those drivers who do not know how to use a four-way stop, it is simple: whichever vehicle stopped at the intersection first has the right of way.

Drivers must also be vigilant of pedestrians who are also confused about their right of way.

But if you are one of those drivers who do not care about the rules of the four-way stop, you are endangering lives and breaking the law.
