A special word of thanks to the commander in chief

We were victims of an armed robbery which took place at about 7:20am.

Madam –

On behalf of my wife and myself, we want to thank staff of the SAPS (Newcastle) for their swift and efficient action on Wednesday, June 15.

We were victims of an armed robbery which took place at about 7:20am. My neighbour alerted the police as soon as he heard of the robbery and within minutes the first members of the SAPS were here. Shortly thereafter other members of your staff arrived.

Based on a description by one of my neighbours regarding the bakkie used, and a partial description of the number plate, the alleged robbers were apprehended.

It is so easy to blame the SAPS for not responding timeously but after this harrowing experience and the magnitude of the crime, my wife and I realised that your staff must be faced with an insurmountable task.

Again thank you for the attitude and swiftness in reacting to our plight in our hour of need.
