Do you try to help the needy?

How many people have actually tried to help those needy ones in terms of donations or other sorts of help?

Madam – How many people out there have actually taken the initiative to raise awareness?

How many people have actually tried to help those needy ones in terms of donations or other sorts of help?

I believe that we should for 365 days every year, honour women, honour children and stop the abuse. After 16 days, abuse will carry on in many houses – it won’t stop because they aren’t forced to. I’m not implying that all men are abusers because they too can be victims and won’t speak because of the stigma in society.

We have campaigns and talks to raise awareness, but does it actually help? The minority of the country doesn’t even pay attention to such social causes because of the fact that it concerns women.

Gone are the days of traditional power relations, gone are the days where women are considered inferior because of their gender. Abuse should be stopped world-wide. It isn’t

acceptable, we have so many religious people who commit these atrocious deeds every day, and does your religion encourage this kind of behaviour?

Women are human beings just as much as men, they can be exactly like men. It is about time that there is a sense of gender equality among us, we women can work as hard as men and attain the same results. So many people strive for gender equality, so many people strive to fight against abuse and break the silence. They are the heroes of a country, they are the heroes of women and children.

Just because a child is vulnerable and will be scared of threats, does not give a person the right to harm the child; such behaviour is sadistic.

If we can gather much more support in South Africa, we can definitely bring a change in our country, we can definitely help the helpless and offer them assistance through trauma

specialists.

A few things that can help a survivor is to speak out about the problems, if we speak about it instead of pushing it under the carpet, we can help the others. Those who speak about their challenges show their bravery and inspire other victims not to be afraid, not to feel worthless.

Don’t forget to always respect women and children. Treat them respectfully every day; not just 16 days a year.

WE say that children are the future of our country, yet we kill our mockingbirds (children).
