LETTER: Recognising the municipal staff for their good work

I always saw the municipality with regard to the financial crisis as the most incompetent government section, but I see clearly now.

Madam – Can we really throw bricks and stones at our municipality?

I always saw the municipality with regard to the financial crisis as the most incompetent government section, but I see clearly now.

The lack of finances to do repairs when there is potholes, burst pipes or just electrical problems, the employees do really do what needs to be done to accommodate the people of Newcastle.

We always seem ungrateful in everything, but to the employees that do and try their ultimate best to get service delivery out there, I salute you!!

I really hope that the culprits who have placed the Newcastle Municipality in this crisis will come to terms on what they have done and that they will one day realise that to take what is not theirs will come back and hurt you where you least expect it.

To all the departments and employees of the Newcastle Municipality who try to make a difference even if it is small, it doesn’t go unnoticed and the hard workers will get their due when the time comes.

Keep up the good work!
