Fête a success, but?

The small area on which the bazaar was held was too small and not suitable for such a large event

Editor – It is with appreciation and according to information that Juana Maria’s Bazaar was once again a huge success.

One can only say a big thank you for all the support from the public, community and businesses. I have been supporting this bazaar from the very first one held in 1981.

Thank you, Ladysmith Gazette, for the photos published in your September 8 edition.

1. Unfortunately, the small area on which the bazaar was held was too small and not suitable for such a large event. One had difficulty moving among the stalls and it was difficult negotiating the tent ropes.

2. The tea garden was not as enjoyable as in previous years. A cup of tea with friends would have been more enjoyable in a peaceful setting.

3. The home’s lounge would have been a better choice for the band. Residents of the home were robbed of listening to the beautiful music.

4. It would have been nicer for the community to see more than the outside of the Juana Maria Home building and many are unaware of the beautiful area on which the home is situated. Few people realise that it is a pretty retirement village and not just an “Old Age Home”.

I know that the residents and people in charge of the Aged Homes Trust are very proud of their environment.

The day of the bazaar, with so many visitors, was a good chance for the entire development to be showcased.
