Arrogant drivers frustrate resident

Isn't there a body that can caution drivers and advise them about the rules of the road?

I write this letter in utter frustration, addressed to the motorists in this town who blatantly disobey the rules of the road.

Do you realise that you are not only placing your own life and that of your passengers in danger but also the lives of other on the road? I have encountered too many bad drivers in Estcourt and it happens day after day.

Just last week, while driving in Forderville, very rude and speeding motorists practically pushed me off the road, they were rushing to the Siraatul Haq School to pick up children.

This happens every day. Why are these motorists in such a hurry? Can’t they be patient and ‘go with the traffic flow?’ I can only assume that it is because they are late or rushing to get the best parking spot.

If you are one of these motorists, please stop. Your arrogant behaviour is dangerous. And then in town, especially taxi drivers think that they can stop wherever they want and cut in whenever they want.

Isn’t there a body that can caution drivers and advise them about the rules of the road? I see traffic offences committed by taxi drivers all the time; do they think they are above the law?

What about the bakkies and taxis that are transporting children to school? How roadworthy are some of these vehicles?

Besides that, too many drivers speed, cut in, speed through red robots and seem to have no care for their passengers. If we all learn to be considerate of other people on the road, so much frustration can be avoided.
