In an effort to reach out to Khoisan communities, the Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural‚ Religious and Linguistic Communities (CRL) has launched a programme to assist Khoisan communities who find culture, religious and language difficulties.
Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape was the first to be visited. The CRL held an engagement session with the communities.
The Public Engagement and Education (PEE) unit led the Commissioner Raymond Trollip as he engaged with Khoisan communities on the past, present and future state.
An awareness campaign was conducted. Commissioner Trollip gave a clear vision and understanding, the truth was put on the table.

The CRL will make sure that promises were kept, which are a television station for the Khoisan communities and South African Stats to abolish the word ‘coloured’, the two languages pushed to be taught at school and the Khoisan’s recognition as cultural groups that are protected and promoted.
The CRL has already gone to these departments to make this happen. This programme will run throughout the country and the so-called Classified Coloured people will see light at the end of this tunnel.
Great excitement was experienced in Uitenhage and all special leaders took part in this engagement. Thanks to the chairperson of the CRL who supported and approved this development, these communities will never be the same.
