Madam – Winter is finally here and we can already tell this one is going to be extra cold.
I know at around this time, electricity consumption goes through the roof, as those fortunate enough to have heaters or heater blankets or aircons are making use of it more to keep warm on the very cold nights.

Usually what happens is then at the end of the month, their bills are also through the roof. As a family, we struggle to make it to the end of every month and the added expense of super high electricity bills may mean we do not have enough to buy food or pay for other necessities.
If you are in a similar situation, I want to encourage you to think outside the box and look for alternate means of keeping warm instead of leaving a heater running all day.
What we did was invest in thermal clothing, thick socks and jerseys and blankets. We bought these items on sale at the end of the last winter, when stores were trying to get rid of their old stock. Also look for good deals on these in the Industrial Area factory shops.

This serves the dual purpose of keeping you warm without the need of using extra electricity, and also helping keep your monthly rates bill down.
As a family of five, we have noticed already that our bill is more manageable as our consumption has not greatly increased apart from the usual.
By investing in warmer clothes, blankets and jerseys, you can also keep warmer for less.
Think ahead
