The article reads: The woman was standing among the protestors who were throwing stones at members of Hlobane SAPS when she was hit with the rubber bullet. Now, one would assume that the woman is one of the protestors, protesting.
Don’t tell me she was innocent, because that is doubtful. She was as much a part of that protest as all the other people; an illegal protest. And watch, the story is going to come out that she was just randomly walking to work, through a violent protest that had nothing to do with her, and was shot with a rubber bullet! I do not believe that!
Yes, she was sadly injured, but what do you expect when you are in the middle of a protest action?
Would it have been any different had a grown man been injured by a rubber bullet or just because that she is titled as a grandmother, that this makes it more of a ‘shame, that’s horrible, how could they be so mean’ case?
It would appear that disrupting traffic has become popular lately; trucks set alight; blocking toll routes; looting. The Public Order Policing was called in to intervene and rocks were thrown at them. How should they have handled the matter?
Thrown flowers back at the violent protestors? No! They were protecting themselves as well as commuters. The article reads: The protestors were so violent that they even pushed a Corsa utility bakkie off the road and down the adjacent embankment. That’s intention to do some serious damage. Were there people in that car? If there were, what about the fear they had experienced being attacked like that? What about the victims?
Something bad happens to the people causing the disruption and violence and we are supposed to feel some form of pity or remorse for them?
If you don’t want to get shot with rubber bullets, don’t put yourself in a situation like that!
