The Ultimate Human Race formally known as the Comrades Marathon took place for the 93rd time since its inception.
Over 21 000 athletes participated in this most prestigious event, which took place on June 10, 2018. Among this huge number, the Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality also had ambassadors running the race.
I would like to congratulate and thank all those runners from Inkosi Langalibalele who participated. The race began in Pietermaritzburg this year and ended at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, which was a total distance of 90,3km.
What stood out the most was South African duo namely Bongmusa Mthembu and Ann Ashworth, taking first position in the men’s and women’s categories respectively.
As the Mayor Inkosi Langalibalele, I wish that in the next marathon our athletes can take first position. Keep up the good work.
