Why have we created a society in which stress dictates to us?

People are starting to suffer from anxiety-related disorders that turn their lives into a living hell

Editor – Why have we created a society in which stress plays such a fundamental part?

As a species on this planet, human beings also have the ‘fight or flight’ instinct, which is there for self-preservation.

But, damn, it’s all out of whack in the modern-day society that is forever pushing for higher profits and more stringent targets. It’s never enough, it seems!

And more and more, people are starting to suffer from anxiety-related disorders that turn their lives into a living hell. You need to get away from the stress but you need your job, and the vicious cycle continues, all the way to burn-out for some unlucky individuals.

The man at the top smiles and goes on vacation on his yacht, while the little guy gets screwed and ends up having to pay for stress medication.

Have we forgotten that money is something we created? It doesn’t really exist except for the fact that we have chosen to use it as our barter system in this day and age.

Now the little pieces of paper and plastic cards own us and not the other way around. Surely there must be a better way to live?

I’m thinking up in the hills away from the smog on one’s own piece of land and growing one’s own produce to feed one’s own family. No fat cat to own you and bring the stress monster into your life. It’s not that easy to escape, or is it?
