This is a well-orchestrated plan inside and outside of the IFP within the district of uThukela, aimed at tarnishing his image and bringing him down

Editor –

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) Youth Brigade has noted with sadness the summon of Councillor Mbuzeleni Mkhize, who is our current chairperson as per people’s will.

As the Youth Brigade within uThukela District, we want to place on record and categorically state that we will defend our chairperson in every way possible because we know exactly that his arrest is politically motivated.
This is a well-orchestrated plan inside and outside of the IFP within the district of uThukela, aimed at tarnishing his image and bringing him down.

Again, let us clearly state that from the onset and inception of his leadership as the district chairperson, some of the comrades had a double agenda with him and some even tried to manipulate the election process. They failed because we rallied behind him.

As the youth leadership within uThukela, we are prepared to defend, fight and even lose what we have because of him. We’re now sick and tired of this petty politics.

Lastly, we are very upset and saddened by the use of the justice system, including the police and prosecutors in this matter; they have now turned into a target agency of certain individuals aimed at de-campaigning our constitutionally elected leadership.

We are aware of the plans that include certain politicians, police and prosecutors that some of our leaders within the district of uThukela must be arrested before Christmas. As the Youth Brigade, we are prepared to fight politically and resolve this politically.

Issued on behalf of IFPYB uThukela by SS Subazane (Youth Brigade district chairperson)
