[LETTER] Eskom, stop underestimating our intelligence!

'Do you really think we are all so stupid to swallow this story?'

Madam – We, as a country, were assured that load shedding would be a mere distant memory during this part of the year.

But lo!, what do we have, load shedding again, with the blame for the situation being the ‘challenge’ of the supply of wet coal to the furnaces. After a little research, the official Eskom fact sheet states that the pulverised coal is blasted by hot furnace gas, which is at 1000 degrees C, through the coal burners in the boiler furnace where it burns like a gas.

This hot air blast not only transports the pulverised coal but dries it out as well. Seems odd that in this time of nation-wide drought we have this problem, posing the question how did you manage in previous years when our rainfall patterns were normal?

Do you really think we are all so stupid to swallow this story? Please do not underestimate our intelligence.
