Madam – Today I was at a particularly popular food chain store in Newcastle and was taken aback by a company holiday work schedule for the Christmas holiday period, and read that the store would be open for business on Christmas Day.
Does management not recognise that this is historically the one day of the year, upon which families from all religious beliefs, spend time together?
Dear management, does your store staff not deserve this one day off, or has the generation of another day’s profits taken precedence over your staff’s family commitments?

In light of this, may I assume that on Christmas Day, your head office staff will dutifully report to their work stations, in accordance with the company directive, or is this instruction only applicable to the store staff?
It is a poor show, that this small consideration could not be given to those persons, without whose labour and dedication is for the benefit of you all. So on Christmas day, please spare a moment of thought for your staff, while enjoying your lunch.
Ho! Ho! Ho! and merry Christmas!
