Angling Professional League casts off
Interest in the incentive based league has been overwhelming, as it will bring a new dimension and is set to revolutionise the angling scene.
The much anticipated launch of the Angling Professional League will take place this weekend at Richgate Park on August 3.
Interest in the incentive based league has been overwhelming, as it will bring a new dimension and is set to revolutionise the angling scene.
This competition would be a forerunner towards the composition of teams which will participate in the League and Knock Out Competitions. All anglers who join the APL will be put into a pool where members will be allocated into one of the four teams for the purposes of competition. This allows for integration with members fishing with one and another from different clubs and organisations.
A special meeting will be held prior to October 15 to discuss the composition of the teams, as well as the appointment of captains, vice captains and record clerks for each team.
Affiliation to the APL does not close and is ongoing throughout the season. Anglers need not to belong to a club as they would be assigned to a team according to the draw. They can join as individuals.
The angler who emerges with the most points this weekend gets to wear the orange cap which will be presented at the weigh in and as the overall leader, the angler will also be awarded the purple cap as well.
