The first team took to the field against Newcastle following the second team's triumph and decimated their opponents with a full time score of 80 - 15.
LAST Friday night saw Vryheid take on Newcastle in two exhilarating matches between both the first and second teams.
The second team kicked off at 7:00pm, with a well structured and disciplined game plan from start to finish, leaving Newcastle trailing at the final whistle, 33 – 12. S Mbatha scored three tries and a conversion; M Stride scored three conversions and the remaining two tries came from Z Dlamini and C Bestbier.
Hooker, Hein Steenkamp took Man of the Match for the Forwards, while Sbonelo ‘Sticks’ Mbatha took Man of the Match as Right Wing.

Tries were scored by C Holtzhauzen (3); M Ellis (1); P Breytenbach (1); J Herbst (1); D Herbst (3); D Sandalls (1); T Kruger (1) and W Pelser (1), with J Herbst also racking up ten conversions to lead the first team to a convincing victory over the visiting team.
Man of the Match for the Forwards was Wynand Pelser, who had a great game at Prop and Dylan Herbst took Man of the Match for the Backs with an amazing game as scrumhalf.
