RACEWAY NEWS: Racers chase the chequered flag – (Gallery)
Drivers affiliated with the Newcastle Oval Track competed in seven divisions, each vying for the chequered flag or at least, a spot on the podium.
Saturday brought with it more motorsport action at Newcastle Oval Raceway.
Drivers affiliated with the Newcastle Oval Track competed in seven divisions, each vying for the chequered flag or at least, a spot on the podium.

Congratulations to the following racers:
- Raeesa Cassim claimed first position in the Go-Karts division.
- Stephan van der Merwe secured victory in the Rookie division, fending off Imtiaz Ameer and Tiaan Buys in second and third respectively.
- Jean de Necker took first place in the 1600s division.
- Second place went to Zaakira Khan, while Johann de Jager rounded off the podium positions.
- The winner in the 1660s division was Hendrik van der Merwe.
- Tiaan Buys claimed second place, and third position was claimed by Ruan Botha.
- Gideon Hand was the 2-litre division winner.
- In second place, Jean de Necker enjoyed his second podium finish of the weekend, ahead of Shaukat Khan in third.
- Likewise, Gideon Hand took another podium position in the Hot Rods division.
- Second place went to another multi-podium finisher, Hendrik van der Merwe, and Ruan Botha ended in third place.
- Jean rounded off with a win in the Tin Tops division, ahead of Dewald Botha.
