Children’s homes were the biggest winners from weekend golfing competition.
A field of 68 players converged at the Newcastle Golf Club on Saturday, to compete in the 2019 Chinese New Year Charity Cup.
Yet the day was not all about winners, scores and strokes.
Instead the competition raised R10,000 each for donation to St Anthony’s and SAVF Louis Hildebrandt child and youth care centres.
Golfers are thanked for their contribution to these causes.
Dries Els claimed first place with 38 points, ahead of Ryno de Vos with 37 points and Hentie van Staden, who took third place with 35 points after a count out.
