For NFWAA anglers, all roads led to Richgate Park where the knock out eliminator round was held in December.
Seven teams competed for the top four spots, which guaranteed them a spot in the semi-finals.
Despite not fielding a full team, Ace Aqua Anglers finished fifth, ahead of both Riverside and Endumeni.
This was not enough to advance to the next round, but their competitive spirit will serve them well in the future.
The top four teams were Ladysmith (88 points), Itec Freespool (65 points), Docrats (51 points), and Chelmsford (34 points).
Vish Govinder of Ladysmith won the scaled category with a carp weighing 3.190kg, while Marcus Davids of Itec Freespool won the non-scaled category with a barbel weighing 5.075kg.
Ashley of Zamamena Construction sponsored the outright trophy and R200 cash for both winning anglers.
