Team Supersonic hosts thumping car show

With 128 competitors vying for the title of ‘Loudest Car’, the car sound competition only drew to a close at 1.30am the next morning.

Team Supersonic pulled off another thumping car show and sound competition on Saturday, August 5.

The Autobarn Parts People Show off your Ride was hosted at the Newcastle show grounds this year. The change in venue from Blackrock Casino, was effected to accommodate the highest number of competitors, spectators and exhibitors this annual event has ever seen.

The Show off you Ride drew more than 4 000 spectators, 400 competitors and 60 exhibitors, according to the event organiser and director of Team Supersonic, Terence Chetty.

With 128 competitors vying for the title of ‘Loudest Car’, the car sound competition only drew to a close at 1.30am the next morning.

There were four times the entries to the average car sound competition, earning the Autobarn Parts People Show off you Ride the title of biggest car sound competition in all of Africa.

Besides the car sound competition, motor enthusiasts also competed in a show and shine competition and a dyno competition, which measures engine performance.
